Volunteer Opportunities:
Spring Program Set-Up: Wednesday, March 22nd
I am looking for a small crew of parent volunteers to help set up risers, a shell, and decorate the stage for Thursday's performance! Setup will be at the Bernie Aaker auditorium on Wednesday, March 22nd (2016) at 4pm. I have the auditorium reserved from 4-7pm, but I predict setup will only take about an hour and a half depending on how many helpers I have.
***Spring Program Tear-Down: immediately following the concert, March 23rd.***
I am looking for AS MANY helping hands as I can get to help take down the risers, shell, and decorations after the concert ends. If you are willing to lend a hand for even 15 minutes after you have greeted your child, I would be extremely thankful as this speeds up the process exponentially!
Crafts & Decorations:
There are several crafty projects that I would love to incorporate into this year's program. I will incorporate as many (or as few) of these ideas into the event... whatever can be produced before the program! Take a look through the following craft links and see if there is one that you might be able to make for us to use (either on loan or to keep)! This might be a great opportunity to involve your child in creating something for the show. :)
1. "Truffula Trees" (can be made in any color out of pool noodles or the type of pipe that is shown in the video) Also, a bucket or something that they can stand in or be supported by.

1b. "Mini Truffula Trees" made out of dollar store plungers and other various items!

2. Banner made out of crepe paper or fabric
3. Photo booth backdrop - two sky blue flat sheets with painted white clouds! (acrylic paint would work well)
4. (FULFILLED!) Photo booth props - as seen in picture, or use your imagination! Create elephant ears, a "Cat in the Hat" hat, or other Seuss-inspired accessories attached to paint sticks to pose with at the photo-station.

5. (FULFILLED!) "Oh The Places You'll Go" sign - Something like this could possibly be created by using a flower pot, a long wooden dowel, and a bit of ultra-sticky tape, I would think. I have not seen a tutorial on how to create one, but something like this would be cool!
6. Plastic Table Cloth - 1-2 rectangular plastic table cloths (red) would be appreciated for a water & cookie table
Rehearsal Assistant: FULFILLED Thursday, March 23rd.
I am looking for one or two parent volunteers to assist me during the morning rehearsal on the day of the program from ~8-11am. These volunteers would help organize students, do last-minute tasks, take notes for the afternoon, etc.
Please continue to check for updates.
